KIDS

What to expect

We know it as an investment to get your family out the door to come to church and we want you to feel comfortable as you make the decision to trust us with your children. They are welcome to remain with you during our worship service. If you would like to take advantage of our Kid’s ministry during service, our volunteers are committed to providing safe and healthy environments where your children will be loved and cared for.

Check In

Child check-in begins at 10:15am and runs until 10:45am. When you enter the church foyer, the child check-in is to the right of the sanctuary entrance. A volunteer will greet you and gather all necessary information.

Upon check-in, your child will receive a name tag sticker, and you will receive a Guardian Receipt sticker with your child’s information and a pager that will allow us to notify you if you are needed. To best serve your family, children are assigned to classrooms based on age.

Safety

To protect your child, we adhere to recommended safety guidelines and all Kirkland Kids volunteers have been trained and have an application and background check on file.

At the conclusion of the service, we ask that you promptly pick-up your child in the hallway leading to the Kids rooms and present your Parent Receipt Label. Children will not be released without the Parent Receipt Label.

Special Instructions

To ensure the best care for your child, we ask you to inform our volunteers at Check-in of any allergies, health concerns, or special needs which will be listed on the Child’s name tag.

Diaper Changing and Bathroom Policies

Our safety standards do not allow our volunteers to change diapers at KLC. If your child has a diaper that needs changing, you will be contacted by one of our ushers. There are changing tables in both the men’s and women’s restrooms.

There is a child specific restroom available near the Kid’s Church rooms that they may use while in Kid’s Church. Volunteers are NOT permitted in a bathroom alone with children. If your child needs assistance, you will be contacted by one of our ushers.

Baby Dedication

Baby dedication is a commitment to raise your child in the ways of the Lord. This dedication is not a statement of salvation for your child, but rather a statement of how you will raise your child. While not a command of Scripture, baby dedication can be a symbol – similar to a wedding band – of your desire to obediently raise your child in the knowledge and instruction of the Lord. It should be done with a community of believers who know you personally and can commit to walking with you in this commitment.
